RESEARCH ASSISTANT / ANALYST

The Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging is a premiere, not-for-profit organization in Cleveland, Ohio, and a nationally and internationally recognized leading organization in the fields of aging research and services.

Our Center for Research and Education is currently seeking three (3) Research Assistants and one (1) Senior Research Assistant/Research Analyst for 1 to 2 years on various research projects related to: consumer satisfaction with healthcare services, and programs for persons with dementia and their family caregivers.   

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The selected candidates will have responsibility for a wide variety of project, administrative, and data collection tasks.  They will work closely with other staff to develop and implement processes and procedures that ensure the quality and timeliness of project deliverables.  They will engage in research activities, such as conducting interviews, processing surveys, and performing literature reviews.  They will contribute to the efficient and successful operations. Candidates should have working knowledge of public policy related to healthcare and aging and various research methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Research Assistant positions require a baccalaureate degree in sociology, psychology, gerontology, public health, public policy or related fields
  • Research Analyst position requires a master’s degree, or a baccalaureate degree and at least five years of research experience; degrees may be in sociology, psychology, gerontology, public health, public policy or related fields.
  • Detail-oriented person with the ability to collect, compile, and analyze information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate research protocol requirements to others 
  • Able to work independently on multiple tasks and manage time effectively 
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, and database experience preferred
  • Experience with SPSS or other statistical software
