RESEARCH SCIENTIST 

The Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging (BRIA) is a premiere, not-for-profit research and service organization in Cleveland, Ohio. For over 50 years, BRIA’s Center for Research and Education (formerly the Margaret Blenkner Research Institute) has been a nationally and internationally recognized leader in aging and caregiving research. We are excited to invite applications for a full-time position as a Research Scientist in the Center for Research and Education

Successful candidates will have recently received a PhD, and will be expected to establish a competitive, impactful program of grant-funded research. He/She also should be committed to translating research into useful programs, information, and products for older adults and/or their caregivers. Of particular interest, are candidates specializing in health and wellness, active aging, and/or social engagement. Candidates also should be interested in collaborating with health and social service organizations and programs, including BRIA’s community services and senior centers. 

The desired candidate will have:

  • Recently received a doctoral degree in Sociology, Psychology, Gerontology, Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, Human Development, or related fields
  • Some experience with and a strong interest in grant writing; publishing; and presenting research to local, national, and international audiences
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A commitment to building a career in the field of applied aging research
  • A commitment to translating research into useful programs, products, and/or information
  • A high value for team-based research that involves professionals from various disciplines and degree-levels.
