**MUST READ: Update on 2011 Post-Payment Claims Overpayment Review

Recently, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (“ODM”) issued the Initial Post-Payment Claims Overpayment Review Reports for fiscal year 2011.  As LeadingAge Ohio reported in an alert to members on February 29, following the issuance of these reports, ODM received a number of comments from providers and associations expressing concerns over the content of the reports.

Today, as a result, ODM has made the decision to conduct another review of all the reports that were issued. In order to facilitate this review, ODM is waiving the 30-day requirement for providers to file a response to request a bureau-level resolution process (NF) or audit conference (ICF).

Providers who have not filed a Post-Payment Claims Overpayment Review Response Form or Request for Audit Conference will automatically be placed in resolution or exit conference status, however, ODM requests providers continue to submit the forms to provide ODM with current contact information for resolution purposes.

During this time, providers do not need to research their records for documents to support adjustment or removal of findings on the reports but its important to read the full letter below for additional details.  ODM indicates the letters have been mailed to providers.

LeadingAge Ohio will continue to work with ODM to find resolution and remains steadfast in our advocacy efforts on behalf of our members. If questions, please contact Kathryn Brod at kbrod@leadingageohio.org, Nisha Hammel at nhammel@leadingageohio.org or Anne Shelley ashelley@leadingageohio.org.
