LeadingAge Ohio Aligns Staff to Meet Member Needs
Change is all around us and in our world of post-acute services, nowhere is it more prevalent than in the regulatory realm. There is a Greek proverb that says, “Divide the fire and you will soon put it out.” At LeadingAge Ohio, we are doing just that. We are excited to announce the addition of Stephanie DeWees to our team as our Quality & Regulatory Specialist in Long Term Care.
Stephanie’s work in the health care industry began over 20 years ago, where she found her passion for caring for others as a nursing assistant in a senior care organization. From there she continued her education to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and then received her BS in Health Services Administration. Her work experience in the industry includes independent living, assisted living, adult day programs, home health, long-term care, and hospital. As a business owner and consultant, she has helped companies and organizations increase their effectiveness, reimbursement, compliance, and quality standards. Stephanie implements her strategies and best practices by managing operations across communities within the industry. Her focus to impact quality of care, while being fiscally responsible has allowed her to obtain Five (5) Star recognition and deficiency-free surveys from state-administered programs.
With the addition of Stephanie to our staff, Anne Shelley will be shifting her role to serve as Director of
Professional Development & HH/Hospice Regulatory Relations. Anne brings with her more than 28 years of relevant industry experience to this role. Throughout her career Anne has worked in a consulting role with a number of providers on a variety of topics such as strategic planning, mock surveys and compliance programs. Prior to joining the Midwest Care Alliance in 2011, Anne served as CEO of Universal Home Health and Hospice, a community based home health and hospice agency in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
"Both Stephanie and Anne’s experience and leadership serve as significant assets to the organization," said Kathryn Brod, LeadingAge Ohio President/CEO. "In their new roles, they will be instrumental in continuing our association’s success in advocating for Ohio’s providers at both the state and national level. Their results-oriented approach and ability to think strategically will play pivotal roles in extending our track record of innovation as we secure our presence in the healthcare continuum in the future.”
