NEW Long-Term Care Survey Process Tip of the Week

There was an update released for the SNF Beneficiary Protection Notification Review form (CMS-20052 Beneficiary Notice) that surveyors will use to review the Notice of Medicare Non-Coverage (NOMNC) and the Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABN). 

The update changed the requirement that a NOMNC and ABN were required for resident’s that had skilled benefit days remaining and elected the Hospice benefit. The NOMNC and ABN are no longer required for a resident that elects Hospice but still has skilled benefit days remaining.

As the new survey process begins, LeadingAge Ohio will be sharing tips each week to assist members during the survey process. Members are encouraged to email Stephanie DeWees with any questions at sdewees@leadingageohio.org.
