New Hospice Wage Index Rule, The HOPE Tool + New Dementia Programs and Opportunities

The new Hospice Wage Index Rule and exciting dementia program opportunities were reviewed during this month’s information-packed All-Member Webinar.

LeadingAge Ohio’s Anne Shelly provided information on the new hospice rule, which included details on the HOPE tool. Because this rule constitutes the most substantial reforms to hospice in over a decade, LeadingAge Ohio will continue to keep members up-to-date with continuing education as information is released.

Representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association also joined members to review a promising project that is headed back to the Buckeye state. The Alzheimer’s Association Dementia Care Practice Recommendations is a coaching model used to support providers in adopting latest approaches in person-centered dementia care that is aligned with the association’s evidence-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations. Listen to the All-Member Call recording to learn more about the program, and how nursing homes might become a part of the ongoing research project.

The Alzheimer’s Association also presented information about grant opportunities for dementia respite program expansion through their Center for Dementia Respite Innovation. Over the course of 5 years, the CDRI will award $20 million in grants to local respite care providers to improve and increase the delivery of person-centered dementia care. Grant applications are due June 1, 2024. Learn more here.
