WEBINAR

Housing Happenings

Join us on the third Wednesday of each month at 9 AM EST for this educational teleconference series designed specifically for affordable housing professionals! Short, practical learning sessions for service coordinators, property managers, and other individuals who work with older adults in affordable housing settings.

February's Housing Happenings topic: Navigating Grief: The Long Strange Journey
Presenter: Maren Simon, LSW, MSW, Bereavement Counselor, Hospice of Northwest Ohio

Brief Description: What is grief? How does one define something so vulnerable, personal and unique as the very person and relationship being grieved? From working with many individuals who’ve experienced various losses, “It’s a long, strange journey” has been one of the most common iterated statements to describe grief. In this presentation, we will explore various aspects of grief including common grief reactions and experiences, factors that impact one’s grief, navigating grief amidst holidays, life events and the current COVID-19 pandemic, and coping strategies that can serve as a catalyst for healing. Additionally, we will discuss how hospice grief support services can serve as a support to those experiencing any type of loss.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
