LeadingAge Ohio Offers Legionnaires Toolkit to Members

The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) released information regarding the recent Legionella Outbreak at Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital as well as general information about Legionella.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a memo in June of 2017 highlighting what nursing home surveyors would be looking for regarding prevention of Legionnaires’ Disease. The surveyor software was updated to ask for this upon entrance for the annual survey. Members are encouraged to review the Survey &Certification Memo on the topic (17-30-Hospitals/CAHs/NHs REVISED) as part of their survey preparedness work.
