Ohio General Assembly Passes 17-day Interim Budget

On Sunday, June 30, the Ohio General Assembly passed SB 171, an interim operating budget that will extend Ohio’s biennial budget negotiations by 17 days. The Governor signed the bill, assuring that the interim budget will permit all state services to continue without any delays or funding concerns.  With the 17 day extension, Conference Committee on HB 166 has additional time to reconcile differences between the House and Senate versions of the budget bill.

LeadingAge Ohio continues to advocate for increased funding for Ohio’s critical long-term services and supports program, including the Assisted Living Waiver, PASSPORT program, and nursing facility care. Any questions related to the budget process may be directed to Susan Wallace, Director of Government Relations and Public Affairs at swallace@leadingageohio.org.

Due to the delay, next week’s “Budget in Brief” call has been rescheduled for Monday, July 15 at 10:00 a.m.
