Hospice of Hope Announces Trovato as Executive Director

Tony TrovatoHospice of Hope, this week, announced the appointment of Anthony (Tony) Trovato as Executive Director. In early 2019 Kavin Cartmell, who was with the organization for over 28 years, announced her intent to retire. Over the next several months, the Hospice of Hope Board of Trustees formed a search committee to identify a suitable candidate that had the needed skillset and passion to drive the organization forward.

Mr. Trovato, who served as Director of Operations/Finance at Hospice of Volusia for Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, plans to relocate to Maysville. Mr. Trovato is bringing over thirty years of healthcare executive leadership and finance experience to the organization.

Kavin Cartmell, outgoing Executive Director stated, "We are delighted to welcome Tony to our area and organization. His particular skillset and extensive related experience will serve Hospice of Hope well, and allow it to continue to prosper under his leadership”

While at Halifax Health Medical Center, Mr. Trovato was responsible for daily oversight of both their hospice and home care operations across six site locations. This included 4 hospice care centers, 5 thrift shops with over 475 employees and an average daily census of over 610 patients.

As Executive Director of Hospice of Hope Inc, Mr. Trovato will be responsible for the operational success of both Hospice of Hope and Kenton Pointe Assisted Living. The service area spans two states covering twelve counties in Northeastern Kentucky and Southwestern Ohio.

Hospice of Hope Board Chair, Roger Cheesbro added, “On behalf of the board, we feel confident in our search process and believe that Mr. Trovato was the right candidate for this important role. Our search committee did not take this task lightly as we knew replacing Kavin and her years of impeccable service would be difficult, but in the end, we feel his background was a perfect match”.
