NF and RCF annual surveys resume this month

The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has reached out to let the associations know that in mid- to late-April annual surveys will resume. Apologizing for the late notice, ODH noted that CMS-Chicago notified them that with a decrease in the Focused Infection Control Surveys for Ohio, ODH must immediately restart following QSO 20-35. They indicated that likely it will be a slow start at first as ODH works to reorient everyone. RCF annual surveys will begin, as well.

ODH releases PSAs to encourage vaccine uptake

Yesterday the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) released two new public service announcements (PSA) to help providers encourage residents and staff to get the COVID-19 vaccine. A link to each video is below:

Anthony Muñoz is an American former professional football player who was an all-time great offensive tackle for 13 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. The March 31 COVID-19 Vaccination Update handout is available here.

Mark your calendars for Careers in Aging week April 18-24

LeadingAge Ohio is partnering with LeadingAge, the Gerontological Society of America, AHCA/NCAL and Argentum on 'Careers in Aging Week'. LeadingAge has provided a toolkit of sample social media posts to share the week of April 18 – 24. While traditional job fairs and site visits are not an option during the pandemic, this is still a great opportunity to highlight the aging services field and the incredible, heroic individuals who work in it.

We encourage members to schedule posts throughout the week to build awareness about current job openings and include the hashtag #CareersInAging in all posts. Members can forward current job openings they would like LeadingAge Ohio to post on the career opportunities section of the LeadingAge Ohio website to jobs@leadingageohio.org.

2021 LeadingAge Ohio awards program nominations open through April 16

The LeadingAge Ohio awards program celebrates exemplary work of the individuals and organizations within its membership. The ongoing pandemic shines an even brighter spotlight on the work this year. This year’s awards program brings an opportunity to recognize the unprecedented caring, compassion and service demonstrated by so many during this past year’s COVID challenges.

Nominations for this year’s awards are open through April 16 with six different categories available. Visit the LeadingAge Ohio website for all the details.
