Lower extremity ulcerations are prevalent in individuals with advanced illness as they approach the end of life. The most common chronic lower extremity ulcerations include venous leg ulcers, arterial ulcers, and diabetic foot ulcers. These ulcerations have a significant symptom burden due to infection, pain, malodor and the subsequent psychosocial symptoms that may arise. This presentation will provide an overview of the diagnosis and palliative management of lower extremity ulcerations.
