CMS recently updated the Reform of Requirements for Long-Term Care (LTC) Facilities in effect since November 2016 with additional guidance on psychotropic use. According to NHPCO statistics about 18% of hospice care is provided to residents of LTC facilities. To effectively collaborate with LTC clinicians, hospice organizations must understand how the rule impacts hospice medication use for those residents receiving hospice care.
