Seizures at end of life can happen for a variety of reasons and can be distressing to patients and caregivers. Multiple anticonvulsant mediations are available to manage seizures; navigating through appropriate, cost-effective options at end of life can be overwhelming. This case-based discussion will review the commonly used anticonvulsants, evaluating anticonvulsants in newly admitted patients, managing new onset seizures using cost-effective therapy, and managing seizures when your patient is unable to take oral medications.
