LeadingAge Ohio responds to questions
on Director’s orders & revised QSO-20-39-NH

This week, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) updated its Director’s Orders governing visitation and testing in nursing homes and residential care facilities. These Orders have given rise to questions among providers as they work to assimilate the information with the previous updated guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). On this past Tuesday’s all-member call, Stephanie DeWees, LeadingAge Ohio Quality & Regulatory Specialist for Long-term Care, reviewed the new orders in a rapid-fire question & answer session that surpassed the time allotted for the webinar. LeadingAge Ohio gathered all of the questions and consolidated them into a single Q&A document for providers to reference as they work to update their policies and procedures in light of the new guidance.

LeadingAge Ohio encourages members to review the Q&A and send any additional questions to the LeadingAge Ohio COVID-19 mailbox.  The document also includes questions that LeadingAge Ohio has posed to the Administration but has not yet received answers. As those questions are answered, they will be included as a “You Asked/We Answered” feature in the COVID-19 Report.
