BASIC: Breaking Down the MDS: Sections O and Q; Nursing Restorative Programming

Seventh session in our 2016 MDS 3.0/RUG IV Distance Learning Series*:

BASIC LEVEL: Breaking Down the MDS: Sections O and Q; Nursing Restorative Programming

This session will look at the following sections of the MDS 3.0: Section O (Special Treatments, Procedures, and Programs) – the timing for the coding of particular procedures and treatments; coding of delivered rehabilitative therapy minutes, distinct calendar days; respiratory therapy; what are the documentation requirements for coding restorative programs and recording of the resident’s participation and expectations for goal setting (Section Q) and what steps must be taken with the information.


Target Audience, CEUs

Administrators and nurses. 1.5 CEU is available for LNHAs, RNs, LPNs, LSWs and LISWs. Social Workers

Jane BeltJane Belt, Consulting Manager, Plante Moran, PLLC, Columbus; Jane Belt has been involved with long-term care for over 40 years serving as a director of nursing and a nurse consultant. She has a Master’s in Nursing and is a Certified Resident Assessment Coordinator and a Master Teacher through the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators (AANAC).
