Correction: HB 45 provider workforce relief

Last week’s edition of “You Asked / We Answered” included two errors. First, the link to Ohio Administrative Code 5160-3-33, which pertains to nursing facility reimbursement of HB169 relief payments upon sale of facility or bed licenses, was incorrect. The correct link can be found here

Second, according to legislative rules, bills containing appropriations take effect immediately rather than after the customary 90 days. As a result, the deadline within the bill for the nursing facility payments to be completed within 90 days of the effective date sets an early April deadline for the Office of Budget & Management (OBM). Similarly, adult day grants must be made in this fiscal year. Finally, all other aging services relief payments (assisted living, hospice, home- and community-based services) are specified to be treated as payments in HB110, which is the biennial budget ending this fiscal year (June 30, 2023).

LeadingAge Ohio has met with the Administration regarding the timing and methodology for payments, which are still forthcoming. Questions regarding relief payments, including estimates for nursing facilities, may be directed to Susan Wallace at swallace@leadingageohio.org
