When is the deadline to submit the injury and illness information to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)?
We Answered…
March 2, 2024, is the due date for submission of Form 300 (Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses) and Form 301 (Injury and Illness Incident Report). The submission requirement is annual, and the deadline for timely submission of the previous year’s injury and illness data is on March 2 of each year. The data must be electronically submitted through OSHA’s Injury Tracking Application (ITA). An establishment is required to submit data from its Forms 300 and 301 if: (1) the establishment had 100 or more employees at any time during the previous calendar year, and (2) the establishment is classified in an industry listed in Appendix B to Subpart E of Part 1904.
Additionally, the OSHA Form 300A, the Annual Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses, must be posted in a visible location in the workplace from February 1 to April 30 of the year following the year covered by the form. Details can be found in the U.S. Department of Labor final rule. OSHA has posted a summary and related information to this webpage, and there is a frequently-asked-questions resource specific to Forms 300 and 301. Additional information can also be found in the LeadingAge summary article.
