Through the silver heart annual recognition, Ohio Living is lifting up the people who make mission-driven care feel personal, steady, and deeply human. This year’s theme, “Trustworthy,” focuses on teammates who model reliability, honesty, and accountability. Across Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice and Ohio Living Bethany Hospice, the 2026 honorees include Max in Greater Toledo, Margaret at Bethany Hospice, Marcie in Greater Youngstown, Daphne in Greater Akron, Toshia in Greater Cleveland, Jaime at Village Home Health & Hospice, and Amber in Greater Columbus. Their stories reflect the many ways trust is built in care settings: showing up, following through, solving problems, and bringing calm and compassion to patients, families, and colleagues.
Just as important, Ohio Living is doing something worth noticing by making this recognition visible. The Silver Heart Award program gives staff members a public, values-based way to honor the work of teammates who strengthen care every day. In a field where excellent work is often quiet and behind the scenes, that kind of recognition matters. It tells staff that their work is seen, it gives teams a chance to name what excellence looks like, and it offers a strong example of how mission-driven organizations can reinforce culture through gratitude and clear values.
