Use MITS for Franchise Fee Assessments

This is the first year that the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) will not send franchise permit fee assessments via mail. Per the new statue for Medicaid nursing home providers, Medicaid providers will be able to access their assessments through the MITS portal.  Providers can access this assessment by clicking on the “correspondence” tab in the MITS portal, as shown in the screenshot below.  Then, under the “Letter Search” section, providers will find the letters listed as “Nursing Home Franchise Fee cover letter.” 

Non-Medicaid providers will still receive their assessments via the mail. ICF.IID facilities may contact the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities at 614.644.7596. Providers who have additional questions may call the Franchise Permit Fee (FPF) line at 614.752.3600.
