As professional fundraisers, it is our job to educate philanthropic investors about the different gift types and the impact each of those gifts have. Educating philanthropists and simultaneously soliciting for three gifts–an annual gift, principal gift, and planned gift–will result in more substantial gifts and allow the donor to make a bigger impact and receive more important recognition.
