Virtual Lobby Week: Advocacy Training

WEBINAR

Virtual Lobby Week: Advocacy Training

Virtual Lobby Week: Advocacy Training

Join Ohio Senate Finance Chair Matt Dolan, Ohio House Finance Chair Scott Oelslager, and the LeadingAge
Ohio policy team to discuss the important role advocates have in informing policymakers as they head into
the SFY2022-23 budget process. Older Ohioans and their caregivers continue to rely on Medicaid support for
services like adult day, PASSPORT, and assisted living waiver. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic poses new
challenges and opportunities for aging service providers and policymakers.

Attendees will learn about Ohio’s biennial budget process, with particular attention on how advocates can
inform and intervene in the process. They will also hone skills and learn strategies for getting the most out
of their advocacy engagements. Advocates will then have the opportunity to put these skills to work in virtual
meetings with legislators.
