Thank you to LeadingAge New York for developing this tool and presenting the webinar.
Hospice providers joined nursing homes and home health agencies in receiving Five-Star Ratings. Hospice Five-Star Ratings are based on the family caregiver experience of care, the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Hospice Survey. It is imperative to analyze your survey results to identify areas that are high risk, high volume, or problem prone to study and improve. Now that there is an easy straightforward way to gauge the quality of your hospice, consumers, payers, and referral sources will use it to select the hospice they choose to do business with. Use Quality Metrics to compare yourself with other Hospices in your service area for rates on experience of care and ask these questions:

Where are we performing better and how can that be sustained?

Where are we not performing as well and how can we improve?

Use Quality Metrics data to inform QAPI, devise and implement improvement strategies, rerun analyses quarterly to monitor the effectiveness of strategies and adapt strategies as needed.
