Located in West Philadelphia with a history of serving the elderly poor, St. Ignatius is a Catholic health ministry that has been an anchor in their local community. It is the only nursing home in the country that was started by a parish, and is currently sponsored by the Felician Franciscan Sisters. STINRC’s mission is to welcome all, and respond to the needs of the whole person, serving their community by providing quality care. They currently offer a continuum of care on their campus with 176 bed skilled nursing facility, 121 independent living apartments at Angela Courts, and 60 assisted living/personal care efficiency units at Francis House.

Job Description:

Reporting to the President/CEO, and Board of Trustees, the new NHA’s primary responsibility is to assure that the highest degree of quality care is provided to the residents fulfilling the philosophy, mission, and values of St. Ignatius Nursing & Rehab Center. He/she will direct the day-to-day operations of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations that govern long-term care facilities and in conjunction with the Board of Trustees with particular emphasis on the implementation of the strategic direction of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s programs, policies, procedures, and activities.
  • Implement the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Represent and establish relationships with surrounding community and hospitals and other health care providers to continually work to meet the residents’ needs.
  • Prepare, in conjunction with Department Heads, an annual budget for approval of the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees and allocate the resources to carry out programs and activities of the facility.
  • Continually review and interpret operating financial statements.
  • Assist department directors in the development and use of departmental policies and procedures; in the operation of their departments including correcting problem areas and improving services.
  • Maintain working relationship and compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Promote and utilize the QAPI method in addressing areas of concern in quality measures.
  • Serve on and coordinate administrative support for Board of Trustees committees such as: Executive, Human Resources, Finance, Quality and Mission Effectiveness and Development.
  • Evaluate direct reports annually. Assist in the development of short and long-term goals, professional goals and mentoring so that each individual may reach his/her potential.
  • Provide support and encouragement to staff in providing an atmosphere of self-improvement through in-service and seminars.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in a long-term care facility.
  • A Pennsylvania Nursing Home License (NHA), or ability to obtain.
  • A strong appreciation and knowledge of Roman Catholic faith.
  • Exceptional operational, financial, leadership, public relations, and customer service skills
