We are seeking a Vice-President, Affordable Living to provide strategic and organizational leadership to the organization for our Affordable Living business segment including operations and redevelopment of current communities, and development of new communities.  The VP, Affording Living serves as a member of ERS’s Servant Leadership Team (SLT.)

 

Affordable Living at ERS: Our philosophy of care guides us to maintain every person’s dignity, and provide the same standard of excellence in care to every resident. Our Affordable Living communities are wonderful places for older adults to live and flourish in safe, friendly neighborhood communities. Residents enjoy amenities and services found in few retirement communities for people with low-incomes such as transportation, gardening areas, complimentary laundry facilities, and chaplain services. The older adults who live in our Affordable Living communities are given the opportunity to live and flourish in a friendly, loving environment.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Plans, organizes, directs and controls, ERS’s Affordable Living functions.
  • Provides leadership to ERS Affordable Living staff in the development of annual objectives and budgets and in overseeing each.
  • Serves as member and staff to the ERS Affordable Living LLC Board/Deals Committee; provides leadership, direction, information, education and support.
  • Oversees and participates in development of Affordable Living projects including acquisition of facility or property, development and design of new construction and renovation projects, oversees construction, HUD, OHFA and other regulatory requirements
  • Recruits, trains, encourages and develops all direct reports to consistently deliver quality results and gives input to managers when appropriate regarding other team members in our process
  • Cultivates an effective work culture consistent with the values and leadership principles of ERS.
  • As a member of ERS’s Servant Leadership Team, serves on the SLT and participates in regularly scheduled meetings, committees and task forces.
  • In collaboration with the other members of the SLT, develops and executes the overall ERS, Inc. strategic plan.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management or related field, masters degree preferred

  • Five years of comparable experience in an upper management level position in the aging or housing services profession

  • Strong, creative leader with a proven track record in management, collaboration and conflict resolution

  • Must have a high level of understanding of housing, HUD, LIHTC and the regulatory environment.

  • Ability to seek and identify innovative methods and services for serving elders

  • Effective budgeting and organizational skills including sound knowledge of project management and organizational redesign

  • Possesses persuasive speaking skills and ability to engage others in meaningful and productive conversations
