ODM Contracts for Statewide Implementation of Provider Gateway; Providers Register by January 31, 2019
As previously reported in The Source, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) has contracted with Provider Gateway to streamline processes and communication around patient liability. Provider Gateway is an on-line service portal that enables Nursing Facilities, County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS) and Passport Administrative Agencies (PAA) to process the ODM 9401 and 10203 forms electronically. Currently, roughly one-third of Ohio nursing homes use Provider Gateway, but ODM’s contract would make their services universally available to all nursing homes in the state.
Last week, nursing homes received emails detailing how to register for Provider Gateway. Providers must register by January 31 in order to avoid disruption in 9401 submissions. Additionally, ODM has posted information to the MITS portal and is setting up an automated email with information about Provider Gateway whenever individuals email the nursing facility stay inbox at ODM. ODM has asked that each organization identify a primary contact at each provider who will help register other staff to use the system.
Provider Gateway is offering daily orientation webinars and training, beginning this week. Once a facility registers, they will be able to visit the website and complete training on the system. Additionally, there will be an email support desk they can send questions.
ODM is hopeful that Provider Gateway will offer a better communication process for providers and counties checking the status of 9401s. To review ODM’s complete summary of the rollout of Provider Gateway, including how to register, click here.
