ODM Overpayment Responses Due Within 30 days
At its monthly meeting with LeadingAge Ohio, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) provided an update that the 2017 and 2018 overpayment reports are anticipated to go out in May. There are only six nursing facilities statewide still making payments for FY 2015, with all other cases paid and closed.
Pursuant to ORC 5164.59, overpayments are due upon receipt of the certified letter. If the provider believes the bureau-level resolution process overpayment amount is in error, a provider may request a reconsideration.
Nursing facilities must respond to the overpayment reports within 30 days, even if they agree with the findings. ODM reminds providers to send in their response on the Final Post-Payment Claims Overpayment Review Response form, to streamline the process and provide timely resolution.
