LeadingAge Ohio Welcomes Lindsey Buzzard, Director of Home Health and Hospice

COLUMBUS – LeadingAge Ohio proudly announces Lindsey Buzzard as the association’s new director of home health and hospice. Buzzard joins the association ahead of the retirement of the 14-year tenured director, Anne Shelley, at the end of 2024.

“My priority was ensuring LeadingAge Ohio members continued to benefit from the top-level assistance and expertise of which they are accustomed. Anne Shelley is a tremendous asset, and we knew finding her replacement would be a task. Lindsey Buzzard fits the bill, and I’m extremely confident that her talent and experience will add strength to LeadingAge Ohio,” stated Susan Wallace, president/CEO of LeadingAge Ohio.

Buzzard comes to the association from Shrivers Hospice in Zanesville, where she was the administrator and director of operations for eight years. Prior to Shrivers, Buzzard led multiple other hospice start-ups in southeastern Ohio and was involved with long-term care operations and administration, having obtained her Licensed Nursing Home Administrator license in 2011. Buzzard is an Ohio University alum, with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Long-Term Care Administration and a master's degree in business administration.

“I am confident I am leaving LeadingAge Ohio’s members in good hands with Lindsey. I’ve had the pleasure of working with her as a member for over 10 years, and I look forward to now working alongside her as a colleague for the next several months. Her comprehensive experience as a leader in both long-term care and hospice, plus her commitment to patient care and mentoring others, made her the ideal candidate for this role,” stated Anne Shelley.

Buzzard will be trained by Shelley until Shelley’s retirement dated for December 31, 2024. Shelley joined LeadingAge Ohio when MidWest Care Alliance – a hospice membership association – merged with LeadingAge Ohio in 2016. Shelley served in a similar role with Midwest Care Alliance for six years. Prior to employment with the Alliance, she served as a board member for nine years while leading Memorial Home Health and Hospice for two decades.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Anne Shelley for many years. She’s made an indelible impact on our organization, and though we’ve tried to stave off her retirement, I understand the time has come. We wish her well in her next chapter. I have no doubt that she will enjoy it fully,” Wallace said.
